Can’t recall where I saw it if here or elsewhere but a few years ago I heard that if you have an under active thyroid and take levothyroxine then you shouldn’t brush with fluoride toothpaste as it interferes with the absorption of the levothyroxine.
So I’ve used natural toothpaste for the past eg 7 years and I’ve had awful decay since (I eat or ate sugar but not loads). Most recently I’ve got a potential root canal with decay under the gum which dentist says is rare and i have to use a high fluoride prescription toothpaste for now anyway.
So can anyone enlighten me on this link re fluoride and levothyroxine or have I been avoiding fluoride for no good reason?! Doctors and dentists always say no medical link by the way.
