Bare with me, this is looking like it will be a long post...
I get dizzy spells quite often and have recently been to the doctors about it. They did some bloods and my glucose levels were 2.5 which was outside the normal range (3.5-7.7) I'm not diabetic.
My thyroid also seems to be on the low side T4 11.3 although the range for my area seems to be 7-17, I've noticed that in other trusts anything under 12 would be considered low.
My tsh was 1 (0.2-4.5) I would have expected it to be higher as the tsh was on the lower side.
My b12 was on the low side but within range 162 (145-910) as was folate 3.8 (3-20)
Again the ranges seem to a bit harsher than shown elsewhere when googling.
Now after researching it seems like thyroid issues and low blood sugar often go hand in hand and can point to an issue with the pituitary gland.
I also saw that hypothyroidism can also cause preterm Labour and it is often standard practice to increase medication whilst pregnant.
I had a baby a year ago and she was born 9 weeks prematurely and not breathing due to placental abruption. Thankfully she was resuscitated and after a stay in nicu she is now a perfectly healthy 1 year old. They never found a reason for this.
Now I'm starting to wonder whether all of this could be related but because I am technically within range for most, it will not be treated.
I'm worried about having more children in the future and the prospect of another early labour.
Has anyone ever been through something similar/had similar results, what was the outcome and does anyone have any advice on what to do next?
Thanks!
