Copper coil and severe pain

Hello!

I had the copper coil fitted in October and was warned that my periods would be painful. The first one I had was relatively ok, uncomfortable but nothing a hot water bottle and paracetamol couldn’t fix. In the meantime I’ve got pain in my lower back, radiating down my leg (rhs) which doesn’t go away. I had sciatica during my pregnancies so just thought it was a repeat of that.

Fast forward to last month, bleeding was really heavy and the pain omg unbearable. RHS in my lower abdomen, into my hip and back, down my leg into my knee. Saw the doctor who said they thought it was a result of an infection, prescribed antibiotics and the pain went and not had any pain in my legs or back since. So maybe it was a bug?

Now, I’ve got severe pain in my LHS. No bleeding just pain, it hurts to put on jeans and I could have cried picking up the kids today. Right by my hip bone into my hip and back.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have an ultrasound booked for tomorrow but I’m worried as the pain is alternate sides it’s something to do with ovulation? Any advice gratefully received xxx
