Is this cellulitis?

Burnt the back of my hand about a week ago. Thought it was healing OK but woke up yesterday to find the skin around it red and warm to touch. My whole hand is throbbing with a bruised like pain. Gp appointment on Wednesday but could this be cellulitis? Can anyone suggest the best thing to put on it for the time being? Thankyou!

Draw a line around the outside edge so you can see if that's spreading. If it does, I'd call your surgery again and explain what is happening. In the meantime could you go to a pharmacist and see what they suggest? My friend had cellulitis a few years ago but hers was a bubble under her skin which grew, it didn't really look like this. I can't say if yours is or isn't, but I feel your best place to go is the pharmacy.
