What does high red blood cell count and high ferritin mean?

Had a routine blood test recently and these came up - I know what ferritin is and my brother has such high levels (800) that they tested him for haemochromatosis (sp?), but he was negative for both genes. My ferritin is only 200, can't remember what the red blood cell count was.

But my repeat test isn't for another week and I've been feeling unwell of late - migraines with nausea and upset stomach (not unusual but haven't had one in ages then had 2 back to back), lingering 3 day headache, joint pain, random episode of diarrhoea from nowhere, light headedness. Felt better tonight so took the dog for a walk and suddenly went very weak and dizzy.

I'm not especially anxious about health but I don't feel quite right and wondered if it was related or if anyone had anything similar before. Not keen on calling GP and saying vaguely "I don't feel so good"!

Did you go to your GP? What did they say?
I have ferritin of 250 and am a bit worried about what that means!

Those are very high ferratin levels. Over about 160 is generally abnormal, over 200 is unusually high. Get checked out with your GP.
