Iv had full blood count among other blood tests .
All came back normal no action required

I found a red blood vessel thingy on my leg pic attached. Iv been to the drs today for my son and asked while I was there ... she's made me another app to use the camera on my skin .. now I'm convinced I have cancer or skin cancer of some sort , she said its something but can't quite remember, just something to do with vessels and it's nothing to worry about , so why she doing the camera then ???
Iv sent her a pic other day of it and she didn't seem concerned. But now she's seen it in person she's doing the camera thing . I'm so scared pls can anyone put my mind at rest

Don't jump to worrying Op - I know it's hard. She could want to have another look at it for looooads of reasons - eg when I had a red patch on my thigh it was a fungal patch and I needed a cream prescribed. Not saying that's what you have obviously, but it could be so many not so bad things! The doctor has her eye on it and that puts you in a good place no matter what it is.

Thoosa · 17/02/2022 16:09

Not a medic but famously white blood count is the key issue for leukaemia and that’s definitely included in an FBC/CBC. So I wouldn’t give leukaemia another thought.

Skin issues are a separate issue and it could be something or nothing much. Far more likely to be nothing much, but keep an eye on it and use the app. No need to panic.

Thoosa · 17/02/2022 16:11

Was it spider veins or burst blood vessels she mentioned? I can’t make out the picture.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 17/02/2022 16:13

I've got about thirty-forty of those.

They're nothing.

Giving you the app is so you can monitor/relieve your anxiety.

@Thoosa

She did mention blood vessels .. saying broken or something . She did say a name but Iv completely forgot as Iv worked myself up

They’re nothing to worry about. I’ve had a huge one on my leg since I was about ten and now a tiny one on my face, too. Completely cosmetic issue.

vxox · 17/02/2022 16:52

@Thoosa I hope so , I just wonder why gp didn't send me on my way which is worrying me . I think it appeared a couple of weeks ago I'm unsure

They just like to be careful. I was sent to dermatology outpatients once for a completely harmless but unusual wart the GP spotted while examining me for something else. It took the consultant about 30 secs to determine it was nothing of concern. Less than that, even.

MonthofMondays · 17/02/2022 17:12

Just to echo a poster above: full blood count would include white cell count and different types of white cells, and would pick up potential leukaemia, so as yours is normal no need to worry about that.

I really hope she doesn't do a biopsy or referrs me . I hope she can tell what it by the camera thing , she did say nothing to worry about .. so I guess i need to trust my dr , after all they are trained and know exactly what they're doing . My appointment is on Wednesday so I'll update everyone on this post

My husbands white cell count was 220 at diagnosis with CML. Platelets also very high. Hb was low.

Mixture of both. Some are raised, some aren't. Some blanch under pressure, some don't. I also have thousands of freckles and a few moles that look different to one another in terms of raised, flat, dark, light, hairy or not. All perfectly normal.

I'd add a picture, but due to their locations, I won't.

vxox · 18/02/2022 16:03

Been to docs today ... he said he's not concerned at all and can barely see it , he did checks etc checked my bloods again and all levels normal
