Right DS woke yesterday with araging temp - gave him ibuprofen and he fine after a slice of toast and a slepp and then again when it wore off his temp shot up again - had it all though the night last night but he was complaining of tummy pain too - didn' stop him eating another slice of toast at 3am this morning - he finally went back to sleep at 6am and has just woke up - gave him calpol and he is sitting watching TinTin for the millionth time but he is hot, lethargic and keeps crying out saying he has a tummy pain.

Checked him all over for rash - fine nothing to worry about and he is passing water and faeces and drinking lots of juice - would you see how he goes or take him to see the doctor - everytime I go to our new doctor I feel like I am neurotic and have never once come out of there with anything hepful other than to give him calpol and neurofen - but a worried about him saying his tummy hurts - but is there anything to worry aout if he pooing etc fine?

Thanks guys - DH said I should go and stage a sit in as have missed morning appointment cut offs and now have to wait until 2pm to make an appointment! Mind you it wasn't DH feeding him toast and Jam at 3am this morning and laughing about loody TinTin!

i would take him tbh just to get checked out to put your mind at rest. So what if you are made to feel like a paranoid mum. At least your son would have had a good check over and u know that its just a virus rather than an infection. x

Take him this afternoon if he still has a temp. It's probably viral and they'll probably send him home with calpol, but it's wise to get them to have a feel of his tummy and check for things like appendicitis etc.

At least that way you'll be able to rule non-viral stuff out.

Right thanks guys

Have booked an appointment - 4.10 bloody earliest they could give me - he is complaining about his neck now too but doesn't have a rash and is sitting in a room with quite bright lights on!

Maybe it is tonsilitus or something like that?
