I got my first extrasystoles at the age of 14. My parents freaked out and took me to hospital, where they said it was nothing, just stress as I was about to start high school. After that I had a few peaceful years until I was 32, when they came back and strong. I went through all tests and had a Holter during 24 hours that recorded almost 2,000 extrasystoles in one day. The cardiologist said they were benign and I shouldn't worry.
I'm 42 now and they returned in November. Really strong and frequent, so frequent that I sometimes have them one after another, in groups. I decided to go to another cardiologist. I did additional tests (effort test in a bicycle, not sure how it's called), heart ultrasound and blood tests. It turned out I have a small prolapse but insignificant, and a small murmur. Basically, he said nothing is wrong, that I can live normally and that I should exercise a lot. I am not worried at all anymore but the extrasystoles didn't leave after that. I have them constantly, day and night. I tried with medication but the side effects were awful so I had to quit it. Somehow I've learnt to live with them but they're annoying :( Funny thing is that when I exercise they go away, but then they come back stronger.
Anybody else here has them so frequently?
