Question about tooth fillings.

I had a root canal filling on one of my central front teeth in 2012, so 10 years ago now. It’s gone well up until this point.
The tooth has what I think might be a cavity, but it could just be discolouration as the tooth is basically dead now.
If it is a cavity, will the dentist be able to do a regular filling on it like they would any other tooth? Or is the tooth going to be too weak??

I went for a check up about 2 or 3 months ago, and it was there then but the dentist never mentioned it. I took that to be a good sign, but now I feel like it needs checking again just to be on the safe side. I really wish I had mentioned it at the time now.

My main worry is that she can’t fill it because of the root filling, and that my tooth is done for. It’s my front tooth Sad I already have very low self esteem as it is.

Has anyone ever had a root filling, and then some time later, had a regular filling on the same tooth?
