My dd (13) has had two squint surgeries in the last year for a divergent squint that appeared 2 years ago.
She’d been having episodes of double vision that progressed to almost constant double vision. Her measurements were fairly large when measuring the squint.
The second surgery has seemed to help, however she has been complaining since of fuzzy eye sight and the inability to focus on objects. They’re blurry, with a fuzz round the outside of them. The double vision has eased although she says she sees two images on top of one another. (I’m guessing this means blurred).
The optometrist recommended an eye sight as the squint seems to be ok.
So today we went to the optician and I’ve come away quite worried.
2 years ago she had 20/20 vision. They commented how good it was.
Today it’s deteriorated so significantly that they’ve told me it’s ‘6 lines below 20/20 now’.
The optician looked alarmed and tried to call the hospital there and then but they eye hosp had just closed for the day.
She’s emailed them, and my gp.
What can be causing this?? Apparently her eye health is good today.
She’s in the past been diagnosed with weak muscles and had episodes of muscle issues across her body. She’s also got a fair few endocrine issues going on too.
I’m not sure what to think
