Cyclical stomach bug

This is really starting to ruin my life! Around 4 years ago I had a terrible stomach bug, LOADS of diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach pain. Ended up in hospital for a few days but never got to the bottom of it.

Ever since then, about every 3 weeks, I get a milder form of the same thing, wake up during the night with stomach pain, which feels like someone is tightening a belt across my stomach, hours of diarrhoea then normally vomit once or twice and after 24-48 hours I feel fine again.

Does this sound familiar to anyone as to what it could be?

You probably are unaware of a new food allergy you have. Try to pay attention to what you are eating. A few years ago, I developed a shrimp allergy, but it took me a year to figure it out. I thought it was from alcohol at first, but then realised I only eat shrimp when going out and drinking. Never at home, so stopped having shrimps and I never had another episode. If I have shrimp, 24 or even sometimes it takes 48 hours I will have liquid diarrhoea for the entire night (probably bc the timing of my eating shrimp is for dinner!). Anyway, I never had that issue since I have stopped eating shrimp many years ago. I love shrimp. It sucks.

My friend developed the same when eating crabs. Another friend scallops and my dh squid.

Oh! I never considered that. I do have several food allergies already so that might fit!
