Hi,
I had fairly regular bouts of tonsilitis as a teenager which has left me with craggy tonsils.
Have always had the odd tonsil stone, but very infrequent and would only realise when one popped into my mouth.
Last few months am getting them much more regularly. Usually can't see them but have become so fixated with them that I bought a kit off amazon and am able to dig them out from the crevice at the top of my tonsil (not all the time, maybe once a week).
Anyway, had a little dig today, got small one out and then pressed onto my actual tonsil where there was a little yellow spot, pus like substance came out and also medium sized stone. Honestly made me feel sick.
I don't know what to do!! I am diligent with oral hygiene and am also doing salt water gargles a couple of times a week.
I don't think my breath smells (no bad taste in my mouth) but obviously am completely paranoid. Do they always give you bad breath?
Don't know it its worth bothering the GP with.
Please help!!!

I've had the odd tonsil stone and it was quite satisfying getting it out! But yours sound like a recurrent problem, maybe infected? I would call the gp.

I would recommend you do not dig around in your tonsils trying to remove stones. You may cause damage / infection...

I hear what you're saying bobbie24, but its so difficult to ignore them. Feel like there is something stuck at the back of my throat. I probably need to try and get a GP appointment. Ugh. SICK.OF.IT!
