Hiatus hernia

I desperately need some advice/any one else's similar experiences with this please -

In 2017 I woke up one morning and remember thinking "my chest feels weird". I thought it would go by the time I went to bed but it didn't and got worse and worse. Went to the gp who reluctantly sent me for a gastroscopy in which they didn't find anything. My dad then paid for me to go under a consultant privately who did in fact find a rolling hiatus hernia.

I was prescribed PPI's and they didn't not make the symptoms better so I stopped taking them and learnt to live with this feeling.

5 years later (around a month ago now) I was lying in bed and physically felt something pop through my diaphragm - I developed extreme heart palpitations and chest pain and was worried it had become strangulated so I went to A&E to be told that it's not possible that I could have felt this and to take gaviscon more regularly despite me telling them it makes no difference. Now I have this constant pressure on my chest like it's being stood on and it hurts to even push down just under my breast bone. Chest x-ray didn't show anything and the doctor has just told me to up there medication and won't consider surgery for a long time despite the fact this is now pretty much ruining my life.. I go to bed as soon as I can because it gives me a break from this horrible feeling in my chest (pressure, palpitation, pain, lump in throat ect) and am now looking into getting private surgery but it is so expensive that I will have to ask family members for help. And atleast if it isn't the hiatus hernia that is actually wrong then atleast I have eliminated that.

I am not overweight and am 24 years old, I don't drink I don't smoke and the pressure is there constantly.

Can anyone tell me if they have had a hiatus hernia repair despite medication not working and now please tell me that this feeling has gone away?

Thank you in advance x
