My back is so itchy

Hello everyone
My back especially my lower back has been very itchy. I am not sure what has been causing this itching. I have tried using intensive body lotion for dry skin on it everyday but it doesn't seem to help. Why could my lower back be itchy?

New clothes that haven't been washed since purchase, labels on new clothes/scratchy clothing material or new washing powder or other washing products

Or have you been excessively hot? Could be from sweat/over heating.
You coukd try an antihistamine, if that helps it suggests an allergic reaction to something

I've had a terribly itchy upper back for nearly a year since I had a reaction to an antibiotic. I use cortisone ointment, which is not good long term, but I can't be scratching my bloody back during meetings!

Try including essential fatty acids in your diet - oily fish, flax seed, walnuts etc
