Lymph nodes

Hi
I was hoping to hear from others in a similar boat or just for some reassurance.
I've had a swollen lymph node in my neck since 2005. Even before that I had swollen lymph nodes under my armpits from 2001. I've had them checked/scans etc back then and while I was told they were enlarged, further tests didn't flag anything up. The one on my neck and one in my armpit are the size of a big grape. They haven't changed in size since then.
I've always had heath anxiety and now I worry more. As I have a cold at the mo, these nodes are hurting and it's making me wonder why I can still feel them. I forgot to mention that back in the early 2000's I had suspected mono, but as I was travelling somewhere remote at the time, it never got confirmed. Could this nodes have stayed big since then? Obviously I worry it's cancer...do you think I should go for more tests?

I have an enlarged node in my armpit for 2 years now, had that biopsied and breast scanned, it was apparently 'reactive' to some past infection and his never gone down. Hurts when I have a cold though! I think these things can happen!

I have one in my armpit. It's been scanned and I've had a mammogram to double check. It's remained swollen after an infection and now has a covering of fat. Lovely! It is sore if I'm under the weather. I think it's quite common. But if you're worried speak to a Dr.

I definitely think that (neck node and possibly recheck the armpit) is worth checking out with your GP. No one here can tell you there is nothing to worry about. But given it has been so long, it is surely a good sign you haven’t developed any serious symptoms.

Please get this checked and come back to hopefully tell us all is well

So I visited my GP who confirmed I have an ear infection in both ears, hence the swollen neck glands! In fact, they are starting to go down already. She confirmed the armpit gland is also swollen due to my infection. I am on antibiotics now and I feel so much better for the reassurance. Thanks everyone!
