Sex: soreness (me) & a rash (dh) after.. what does this mean?

I've been v sore/swollen after sex for a while, hard to tell as it happens infrequently since dd (only 7.5 yrs!) & assumed this is just cos it goes on for ages sometimes & I'm not necessarily that into it....

But dh just told me that the last few times he's had little spots appear on the end of his penis for a day after, so this has got me worried.

I'm also sore just before a period is due & got thrush whilst pregnant but I don't have smelly discharge or anything so am not sure if it can be that.

He is adamant that he can't have caught anything & I certainly haven't...

so please advise, & I hope reassure....

you could both have thrush

foxinsocks · 30/12/2007 12:37

thrush in men from the bbc

Eowyn · 30/12/2007 12:38

Thanks, I'm hoping it is something like that but I don't know if you can just get soreness & no other symptoms?

I think the symptoms can vary.

If you are unsure, you should go to the doc really (who should probably check out soreness after sex anyway?).

You could always treat it as if it was thrush and see what happens as you can get the stuff over the counter (but treat dh at the same time)?

Eowyn · 30/12/2007 12:43

I think I might, am not dead keen to go to Dr. Having read about various STDs at least it doesn't seem to fit any of them either..

sounds like you keep passing thrush back to each other both get some canisten. If this does not improve go to the docs

dingdongbelgianbunsonhigh · 30/12/2007 16:02

Get yourselves 2 doses of diflucan and take them together - it was the only thing that worked for dh and me after months of passing it backwards and forwards between us. Thrush - sounds just like it.

dingdongbelgianbunsonhigh · 30/12/2007 16:02

One each that is!

FlllightAttendant · 30/12/2007 16:07

I've had thrush a few times with just soreness, no discharge or anything.

seeker · 30/12/2007 16:09

Thrush.

Get some Canestan cream - and make sure he uses it too.

If that doesn't work, then ou need to get it checked out by the doctor.

You're not using condoms, and allergic to them at all, are you?

Eowyn · 30/12/2007 20:07

Thanks for replies. No, not using condoms but glad to hear it sounds like thrush & not anything worse, will try to get some stuff & sort us both out at once.
