A relative has been in hospital for a while and I have written to them 3 times. Does anyone know if hospitals withhold letters from patients because of Covid?

Did they change ward, I would speak to PALS and they can locate which ward they are on and ask the staff.

Thank you, I'll ask. I addressed the letters to the correct ward but my son says he's been moved now. I would have thought the hospital would be able to locate him though.

The letters may have been put back into the outgoing post tray on his old ward. A ward clerk can look if someone has moved but they may be off sick or understaffed. Can his new ward call the old ward and ask if they are still there.

Thank you MayThePawsBeWithYou I don't know exactly which ward he is on at the moment, and don't want to ring up, it's not very important. I'll find out when he is discharged.

He probably does have at least some of them. Is he able to reply?

AislingEliza · 31/01/2022 21:22

Yes, he could reply by text, and he would normally do this. That's why I think he hasn't got them.
