Change to BO

I'm going to phone and make an appointment with the GP tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone has experience similar to mine or any GPs can shed some light on what may be causing it.

My body odour has changed recently. It smells very strange, I can't describe it. As well as that, my urine smells like what it did when I was pregnant. Very strong smell despite it being clear.

I generally drink around 2 to 2 and a half litres of water a day. Aways have done.

I'm obese, I weigh 18st 12 at 5 foot 6. I've recently lost a stone and I am working to lose the rest of the excess weight.

I have possible non alcoholic fatty liver, I'm just waiting on a scan.

Could the smell of my BO be due to this, or could I have developed type 2 diabetes?

I know that either way I need to lose weight and as mentioned I am working on this, and I know no one can give me a definite answer except my doctor but I'd like any experiences or advice.

What are you doing to lose weight? Is it possible the change in smell is down to ketosis?

HerRoyalHappiness · 30/01/2022 18:05

I'm just being more mindful of the food I'm eating and tracking calories. I doubt its ketosis, I eat around 1600 calories a day and I don't cut carbs.

I think I'd make a doctor's appointment if I were you.

Thats my plan for today. As soon as the GP surgery is open.

Turns out I have a severe urine infection. That's causing the smell of my urine and BO as the infection is causing me to sweat excessively.

I had a change to my urine and then realised it was because I started adding raw broccoli to my salads. When I do not eat raw broccoli it is fine. Perhaps it could be any new foods you have added? Of course see the GP as well to make sure.

At least you know now and it should be easily treatable. That must be a relief, no pun intended.

HerRoyalHappiness · 31/01/2022 21:22

It's a huge relief. I was so worried it was something serious.
