Morning After Pill- Has it made anyone behave strangely?

I took the MAP on sunday and have felt an emotional wreck ever since. I feel really angry and weepy over the smallest things. I am really tired as well though. My poor family!!!

Has anyone else had a similiar experience and if so how long did it last?

TIA

I have taken the MAP twice. first time was ok.. Second time I felt an emotional wreck just after and then when my next period was due I turned into an absolute dragon. The poor kids at school didn't know what hit them.. let alone my own dds at home. I am not normally prone to anger so this was quite upsetting.

In both cases it didn't last for more than a day though. I do hope you don't get the premenstrual backlash as well. After the last episode my dp is taking no chances. He says he'd rather go without than face that again .

Hope you are getting some emotional support from your DH as it is partly his fault .

I've been at my Mum's with the DC for 2 days. DH's been at home on his own supposedly working. TBH he seems grumpier than me and he's had 2 days off .

I still feel murderous so I'll keep a wide berth from him.

I'm concerned about the premenstrual backlash you mention as I am usually terrible at the best of times.

...lets hope then that it has the opposite effect for you .

I did find pulling up weeds, severely pruning the garden, vacuuming the whole house, cleaning windows etc helped.....

But best thing is to tell everyone you have been taking medicine that is making you feel like this... that you love them and that they should not take you seriously at the moment. Also ask for TLC at this time. I am sure your children will respond to that... mine became really understanding about my bad temper when they realised it was not only not them causing it, but that it was making me feel miserable.

I felt really ill after taking it. It is, after all, a massive dose of hormones which don't have a great track record of making us feel too good!! Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the advice about telling the DC about the medicine. It's a good idea as they were upset last night at my Mum's when I got really cross with them for not settling down to sleep.

I think I should tell my Mum too, but I feel really saying I had to take the MAP. However I did overreact a bit when usually I'd ignore annoying things she says/does. I don't want her brooding sadly though. I'd better phone her.

Pruning sounds a good activity for this mood.

Thanks for all your support
