I wasn’t sure where to post this. I had to have a blood gas test last week. I always seem to have some lingering pain in my wrist after they use the wrist artery and this time was particularly bad (the doctor couldn’t get it until the fourth time; he FINALLY got the ultrasound machine and used it for attempt #4). I’m to the point where the bruise is fading but I’m still having some truly zinging pains in my wrist into my hand and thumb. I’ve had it be sore before, sometimes for a month even, but not this sharp sort of pain. I don’t know if I should be concerned at all, because I have a form of vasculitis that makes my veins complete crap and loads worse every year, so maybe it’s just that, and I don’t want to contact my doctor if so, and if I just need to live with it. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with a blood gas test?
