Slipping rib syndrome

Having a nightmare time trying to get a doctors appointment, but google keeps leading me back to this.

I've had back problems on and off for the past year.
The past two weeks have been complete agony.
It's at the bottom of my rib cage on the left side.
The reason I think it is this is that I get a sensation of a lower rib overlapping when stretching/ bending forward. Hard to describe, but like a popping sensation.

The pain is always worse in the evenings, and then eases at night when I'm lying down, so it is definitely related to being active during the day. I do a lot of lifting as my youngest child has mobility problems (has a wheelchair).
I'm very active and do a lot of walking (which unfortunately makes the pain worse).

The pain when it comes is constant (daily) and lasts for several hours.
When kneeling sorting washing, I have had to crawl back into the other room as I can't stand.
It gets so bad that it brings me to tears and dominates everything I do.

I have tried over the counter pain relief to no avail.

I'm 46.

I get this too! It’s the most horrible sensation and it feels like an organ has flipped over when I bed sometimes. I take cocodamol for pain but generally mine only really hurts at the time.

Go and see an osteopath privately. They aren't that expensive, and to be honest will be far better than a GP who will tell you to take paracetamol and come back in a fortnight.

@Stormbraver99 hi I am just looking around this site and saw your post. Have you managed to see the Dr yet? There are 2 groups on facebook for slipping ribs you might like to look them up.
