Blood in stool?

Sorry if this is TMI!

For the past couple of weeks I've been having bright red blood when I wipe after opening my bowels, it's quite a bit sometimes and then other times it's only a small amount. The times when there's been a lot it seems to have some clear mucus mixed with it too? Just wondering if anyones had anything similar and can reassure me (have very bad Health anxiety) can't get a doctors appointment for another 3 weeks so I know I'll worry until then!

Is it bright red? Likely to be piles or a small fissure
Darker blood would be more worrying

@dementedpixie yeah it's bright red, should I try something over the counter first to see if that helps? I did have piles after I had my DS back in august 2020 but they went after some cream and never had any trouble since until recently

Yeah I'd try some anusol or germoloids creams and maybe suppositories if you think they'd help. They could have got aggravated again. Keep up your fluids and fibre intake

Although it's probably something fairly harmless like a tear or piles you must go and get examined by a doctor. Don't ignore it and assume what the issue is.
