Is 136/ 87 a gold blood pressure reading at 63 years old ?

@Lifesforloving1 very good, are you on medication or is it just your normal BP? I’m very pleased when I get that on medication!

@PurplePumpkinDream
No I’m not. Glad it’s okay. x

It's not great but not bad. A good reading is 120/80 so yours is a bit high. Just needs watching. Did you do it at different times of the day? It can fluctuate.

PurplePumpkinDream · 25/01/2022 09:37

I believe it also depends on age, the OP’s bp is accepted as good because of her being in her 60s. But yes it can also fluctuate, mine does. The average is more important than random readings.

I would say it is nothing to worry about, but these days they same aim to be under 120/80 and above 90/60. If you are interested to try and lower it a little, you can do some diet changes and exercise. The more veggies and fruits you add to diet, it will help reduce it. Rocket leaves, beets, lineseeds are known to help reduce. Stay away from licorice as that can increase. Reduce drinking alcohol, caffeine, too much fat or sugar. But really, your BP is fine...it is just if you want optimum BP.

It's OK but not brilliant.
