...but I don't have any other symptoms. Well, i feel a bit hot but I've just got out of a bath!
I'll tell you what it looks like, it looks like I've been leaning on a hair brush! Red pin pricks on the inside of my arm.

I'm not worried but dh is fretting - not for my health but because we have a 6 mo dd! Should I do anything? I don't want to over react. It's probably just heat rash from my bath isn't it?

I would phone nhs24.

I've seen a fair few people on MN talking about these marks, they can be perfectly harmless - unless you feel ill don't worry!!

FlllightAttendant · 28/12/2007 16:46

I mean that they have them in various places, long term, and they are not dead iyswim...

Myrrhcy · 28/12/2007 16:48

ds had this the other day - all over his arms and legs. I think he reacted to a new bubble bath.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 28/12/2007 16:55

Problem is I'm now starting to get psychosomatic symptoms...

Oh my neck is a bit stiff? (well yes, you've just spent an hour reading in a bath!)

I've got a bit of a headache coming...(that's what happens when you drink cava at 4pm having had only yule log and a handful of Mingles for lunch!)

DH is fretting and searching vainly for the thermometer I'll call nhs direct if I actually do start feeling ill.

Have you been scratching there a lot? Lots of scratching can cause tiny burst blood vessels which leave red spots that don't fade.

jalopy · 28/12/2007 17:29

In the crease of your arm?

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 28/12/2007 17:32

Just below, and I haven't been scratching.

Have you been carrying a heavy bag/child? ie broken blood vessels under the skin.

ds has this almost permenantly on his shoulder from a too heavy schholbag.

Magrat · 28/12/2007 19:22

I'd get checked

(I had a rash that wouldn't fade on my face .. it was broken blood vessels from vomiting)

hope you're with a medic

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 28/12/2007 19:43

Ding ding ding ding! saggar has got it! Just realised it must be from carrying the damn car seat in the crook of my arm! I hadn't thought about that before. I'm fairly sure that's it. Durrr!

Thanks for all your help!

For future reference you don't need all the signs of meningitis for it to be meningitis. Have never forgotten the 9 year old boy who died because a GP said it couldn't me meng as he could move his neck.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 28/12/2007 19:53

Thanks Nab, I'll bear that in mind. I'm fairly sure it's not but DH is still keeping an eye on me
