Zapain side effects

Quick back story - went to the hospital yesterday for chest pains. They told me they think it's nothing (they only looked into my heart by doing an ECG and nothing else) and told me to take strong painkillers until the pain went.

Today I've taken some Zapain but oh my god the side effects. I feel sick, I feel dizzy, I ache, I feel sleepy, I feel like my arms are heavy etc and generally HORRENDOUS.

Has anyone else had these side effects? How long do they take to go away.

They haven't even really helped with the pain either in my chest / ribs etc 🤦🏽‍♀️

I wouldn't consider Zapain to be suitable for chest pain. They are good for rheumatic type pain and injury on a short term basis.

The effects you describe are typical but they will go soon. Drink plenty of water, try to eat and sleep if you want to.

You don't say how old you are but the effects are often worse in people as they get older.

Come back soon and tell us how you are.

Zapain is co-codemol.

Co-codemol is paracetemol and codeine.

One common side effect is constipation and, as you've found out, drowsiness. I wouldn't say it was a very strong pain killer. I take them every day for pain in my hip.

Well it is 30mg codeine plus paracetamol. That's a fairly high dose which is why it is only available on prescription in the UK.

Solpadeine Max is 10mg codeine + para and the effervescent type is quite good; Syndol is not bad.
