Hives experience

Yesterday morning I developed what I am pretty sure were hives on my wrists. Super itchy with small raised bumps. They came and went fairly quickly, I’d say within 30mins. Later they popped up all across my stomach and then around my neck. This morning it’s back with a vengeance. All around my neck up to my ears and my upper chest. The itchiness is driving me insane. I took an antihistamine yesterday evening which may have helped but it was a once a day one so I can’t take another yet. I’m wondering what others experience of this is? I can’t think of a trigger, I haven’t eaten anything new or changed household products.

It’s only day 2 so not something I want to bother the Dr with but if anyone has any home remedies I would be grateful.

Contact your GP

They'll prescribe you stronger antihistamines and probably a cream possibly steroid for the itching. It's unlikely to be hives / shingles

New washing powder, cream, shampoo, shower gel, soap, tried any different food items ?

This is something a GP deals with so yes do bother them

Thanks, I will give them a call. Hopefully they can prescribe over the phone.

No I can’t think of anything different that I’ve used or eaten. After it started yesterday I stripped the bed and put the sheets on a hot wash as I worried we had some type of mite, although DH isn’t suffering. After a big flare up this morning I’ve been ok for the last hour which is a relief.
