Is this a caffeine / blood sugar thing??

Every day I have two cups of stewed tea and one strong coffee (sort of short strong cortado style coffee from beans). Today I added to this with a creme egg at lunch. Otherwise eat pretty healthily!!

But at 5 started to get the shakes and feel a bit high and speedy. Feel sort of amazing, excited and happy but also a bit
spacey.

I have been getting this a lot recently at 5 ish.

Is it caffeine sensitivity?

Or lack of food.

Do you eat anything other than the crème egg?

purplesequins · 18/01/2022 17:39

yep - coffee plus sugar = racing heart for me

KittensTeaAndCake · 18/01/2022 17:40

What else did you have for lunch?

pinkiepiee · 18/01/2022 17:42

One slice of brown toast with butter and peanut butter for breakfast

Homemade pasta fagioli soup plus banana
And creme egg Blush for lunch

Have just crammed in an orange and some
Cheese and crackers

Seems like quite a lot of food but I guess it is cold. Also DD waking a lot in the night so maybe sleep Deprivation? It's not a horrible feeling but it is a bit weird and spacey

Apart from the creme egg your diet sounds excellent, so its prob not sugar. It could be caffeine as it takes surprisingly little to affect us.

Can you try reducing it to see if it helps?

SparklingLime · 18/01/2022 17:46

That is almost entirely carb-based. Add some more protein to help stabilise your blood sugar? Could be a blood sugar dip.

Thanks all - just eating cheese and feeling it all calm a little
