Hey

DS 13 has had a rash on side of his neck for about 6 weeks.

Pharmacist said ringworm - I put daktarin on 2 to 3 times a day. This eased it but it didn't go away.
I found some fuslic acid in the cupboard at home. That also helped but it didn't go away completely.
Saw GP two weeks ago who gave us 2% daktarin.
The rash is now back to how it was 6 weeks ago.

It's where his school shirt collar goes.

Ds said its only itchy occasionally.

Any ideas.......

That looks identical to when I had ringworm. Weirdly after frantically searching for help, canestin cream usually used for thrush/foot issues cleared it up within a week.

My go to is Clotrimazole for Tinea (ringworm) and sometimes Terbinafine.

I’m not convinced that is Tinea though - although it’s difficult to tell on a photograph. It may be eczema or dermatitis, which can look at bit like a Tinea. Sometimes the carrier cream in the preparations you were using is mildly effective for dermatitis. If it’s not responding to an antifungal, I try 1% Hydrocortisone cream for a few days to see if that works.
