Bad breath

LesleyA · 13/01/2022 20:08

My family regularly comment on my bad breath. My tongue is often thick and yellowy white (sorry sounds revolting) so I bought a tongue cleaner which helps but my kids esp just hate my breath. I’m regularly constipated and drink milk in my tea and coffee which I drink a lot of. Please please can someone help me with things that have worked. When I’m not constipated my breath is still bad. Help please

Tonsil stones?

winterchills · 13/01/2022 20:36

I would have a word with your dentist/check up. Maybe something wrong with your teeth or gums

womaninatightspot · 13/01/2022 20:41

I'd check with your dentist. Also I found a water flosser really helps my mouth feel cleaner overall. Teeth don't have grimy feeling in the morning. Perhaps make a switch away from milky tea/ coffee to green tea to see if it helps.

Hot water and salt rinse should help neutralize your breath

What does your partner say?
What's your diet like?

Years of not cleaning your tongue must have an affect.

Do you floss and brush twice a day?

Give up alcohol, caffeine and junk food.
Sugar too but that'll be harder.

Do you floss?

Drink more water, my little boy will have bad breath if he hasn't drank enough water the day before

Try a few days off sugar and flour. They tend to make a sort of 'papier mache' substance in our bodies that comes out of all the orifices, including the mouth (you might also have gooey eyes, white vaginal discharge, mucus in your poo for example)

Sorry for the TMI but they're useful examples, and... you started it ;)

Sounds like the issue may be yeasty, from what's on your tongue, so cutting carbs (which are all sugar, and feed the yeast) in general may help.

Great I’m going to do those too really want to try. Really appreciate tmi
