Does anyone have any experience with this drug for epilepsy? DS2, who has autism and severe learning disabilities, started taking it a month ago alongside carbamazepine. Since then he has had an increase in seizures together with periods of extreme agitation. At other times he is fine. If it was the drug causing this, would the side effects be more constant or can they come and go? His epilepsy team are keen for him to swop from carbamazepine to brivaracetam eventually as it’s a more modern drug with fewer documented long term issues, but at the moment we’re very uncertain it’s worth it.
