DS has chest infection, dr given AB, but need time to kick in. What can I do in the meantime to make him more comfy?

Got AB this morning so he's only had 1 dose.

He's 2.4, very very chesty with high temp. I'm doing liquids, calpol/ibruprofen every 2 hours, and Steam in bathroom.

Anything else I can do?

Anyone? He's very miserable.

Olbas oil on his pillow, or on a tissue.

Vicks on his chest/back and put a hot water bottle (wrapped in towel) on it)

humid air makes breathing easier
put tel directory under bed head so not lying flat at night

Ooh iced lollies a good idea - will get dp to get some on the way home from work.
