Hello, I'm trying to figure out my blood test results for coeliac. GP not helpful.
I'm deficient in iron, Folate, Vit D and B12, loosing weight for last three months, on average 1lb per week, now 8stone 5lbs.
Tummy either just hurts, feels nauseous or starving hungry. Never just normal.
I definitely eat more than enough food with a great varied diet.
I have not fit out gluten yet.
I'll attach a picture of my results if anyone can offer any feedback/advice that would be most appreciated.
Thanks

If they suspect that Coeliac disease is still a possibility in spite of the negative result on the assay (it happens), you could be referred to gastro consultants for further opinion tests (the only absolute way to diagnose Corluac disease is with a biopsy).
Were you eating a good amount of gluten when the blood test was done? You need to be eating normal amounts of gluten for for a good number of weeks (1-2 months I think) for your body to react to it so the tests pick it up.

Hi OP

My understanding is that the blood tests alone are not reliable for detecting all case of coeliac disease. The gold standard is biopsy (done by endoscopy). If I were you I would press for referral to gastroenterology so the tests can be done.
One other point to note. There are other conditions that can cause the deficiencies you mention. For example I had exactly the same issues as you and after biopsy was negative for coeliac but found to have a similar condition in my stomach (lymphocytic gastritis). But you're really not going to know until you have the endoscopies and biopsies.
