Gaining weight healthily

After a particularly busy time at work and recent bout of illness I've lost some weight. I've always been on the slim side naturally and when I checked I've now slipped into the underweight category. It's not by that much but I don't look or feel healthy and have a family history of osteoporosis and being underweight creates an increased risk. I've been trying to eat more but seem to be maintaining the current weight rather than putting any on.

Does anyone have any suggestions for healthy foods that will help me gain a bit of weight? I've thought of avocados and adding extra olive oil to things. I teach full-time and have two kids so bonus points for things that are easy and quick.

Add a peanut butter piece to your day

Nut butter (use on toast/porridge etc), full fat milky coffee, toast with lots of butter, pasta mixed with marmite and melted cheese, veg soup with added cream or cheese, salmon baked with oil/butter and lemon and wedges, chocolate, fruit crumble with vanilla ice cream.

Increasing your dairy will help, be careful with eating lots of cream and oil, a high fat diet isn't healthy for most people. You may find smaller changes like an extra slice of toast with breakfast or an extra snack in the day are easier to manage. Be careful just adding fat to your diet, you still need a balanced diet just eat more of everything.

Try to drink pre-made protein/calorie drinks such as Ufit and Complan. That’s what I did to gain weight (alongside eating ofc). Good luck xx I gained a lot healthily so if you have any questions just PM me
