Itchy left outer thigh

JessicaKenny2018 · 06/01/2022 21:59

My outer left thigh has been itching for around 6 weeks now, there is nothing obvious on the skin no bites etc, it's got so bad now I've actually bruised my leg from scratching it.
Skin isn't dry and is moisturised daily.
I've booked a phone call appointment with the doctor but whilst I wait does anyone have any clue what this could be?

Spoke to go today she has said need bloods done, could be a trapped nerve, she is checking for diabetes, vitamin b12 levels and said she is going to check for ovarian cancer now I'm terrified and can't go for a blood test yet as we are isolating

I'm sorry to hear this OP. Try not to believe in the worst case scenario. These tests are just to rule out certain conditions. Sorry, I've no idea what it could be but I hope you get answers soon.

@SallyWD thank you, I have no other symptoms but can't help but worry when they mention the c word

@JessicaKenny2018 sorry to hear but it seems very unlikely to me it’s ovarian cancer, especially with no other symptoms. Obviously being doctors they know what they are doing and possibly have to rule that one out. There are many others conditions that fit those symptoms. Bloods are always a good idea to start with, and I guess you’ll eventually be referred to dermatology.

@PurplePumpkinDream thank you, I've just got this feeling it's all going to be drawn out because I had cysts on my ovaries when I was younger and according to google cysts will also raise the blood test results, so if I still have cysts on my ovaries I'm guessing I'll have to wait for a scan.
