My colleague has got high temperature but is being told to come to work tomorrow. I’m working a shift with him so abit concerned as he may have covid. He had a PCR test on 26th December which was negative.
Is the employer correct in asking him to come to work? Or should he stay at home, do a pcr test again and wait for results?

How high?

First paragraph of Gov.uk advice:

If you have any of these 3 coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms, even if mild, use this service to get a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as soon as possible:

a high temperature
a new, continuous cough
you’ve lost your sense of smell or taste or they’ve changed
You can order a PCR test kit to be sent to your home or book an appointment at a walk-in or drive-through test site.

If you have symptoms, self-isolate straight away until you get your results. Do not leave home, except to post a test kit or for a PCR test appointment. Check if the people you live with need to self-isolate on NHS.UK.
