Currently having a horrible sciatica flare up - can anyone please share some tips for easing it? I've tried everything I can think of so your suggestions would be very welcome

Codeine.

A TENS machine and a prescription for amitriptyline. Nothing else touched mine when it flared up really badly and even 40mg amitriptyline only took the edge off.

I do Davina's dynamic stretching on the 7 Min fit dvd. Agonising the first lap but by the third it's eased.

Tens machine (about 13 quid from Lloyds pharmacy, and you can buy cheaper pads online), etoricoxib (anti inflammatory), nortriptyline (nerve suppressing). You'll find stretching and yoga video on youtube that can help in the long run.

A TENS machine is an absolute lifesaver. I also had a course of acupuncture which was surprisingly effective (although appreciate this might be tricky to access at the minute)

Hope it eases up soon.

Thanks everyone! I've got codine and naproxen and I've borrowed a tens machine from DM.
