Red spot on back on hand won't heal

Is this anything I should worry about. Small, hardish, red, spot like thing on back of hand. Think it heals and then it is red again.

Get it checked out, friend of mine had something that sounds like this on her forehead. It turned out to be skin cancer - she had it removed and all fine now.
