I'm 33 and a few months ago I went for a colonoscopy due to some abdominal pain etc. During the colonoscopy an 8mm colon polyp was found in my sigmoid colon. I remember seeing it on the screen. The Dr planned to remove the polyp later in the procedure but then couldn't find it again! I then had another colonoscopy to find the polyp but again it couldn't be found. (He went round 8 times!). I have now recently had a 3rd colonoscopy (now a sigmoidoscopy) with a specialist using a different camera and even he couldn't find it. I've been reassured and told not to worry because the polyp was small and I'll be screened again in 12 months. Dr still seems sure there was a polyp there and now I'm left with terrible anxiety about the whole thing knowing there's a polyp inside me that nobody can find, even an extremely good specialist. I just can't imagine them finding it after 12 months when they haven't been able to now. I also have gallbladder polyps and worry because I am relatively young for all of this. I don't know what to do and can't stop Googling. I think it's an adenoma based on its appearance. I know I should listen to the Dr's and not worry but I just can't seem to. I’m screened for other things and this is now just another worry. Any words/ advice/ experiences would be great! X
