Persistent diarroah?

My mum has had persistent diarrhoea for 3 months now with blood in it sometimes. She had a FIT test that was negative but hasn't had a camera yet. I'm so worried for her. She's 52. Is there any chance this could be anything but cancer?

It could be inflammatory bowel disease, or diverticulitis.

DF has had this. He has had scans, colonoscopy, fit test etc & all were ok.

We were thinking old age inflammatory bowel disease at one point. We actually now think that it’s because he eats rennie & other antacids like smarties!

It doesn’t necessarily mean cancer, has she got a date for the camera?

No she hasn't, she's going to ring up after Christmas. She can go anywhere from 3-10 times a day where as she used to only go every few days. It started suddenly one day in September and just hasn't got betterSad
