Is it normal for a teenage boy to spend ages ‘going to the toilet!?

I think it probably is! Have you asked him to do something and he is skiving. Is he just looking on his phone. Is it the only door with a lock. Teenagers are a rule to themselves DS is almost 15 and he can spend an awful long time in the bathroom 😬😬

Is he 'going to the toilet' whilst in there? Or is he doing 'something else'?

I would suspect he's probably having a wank.

Well, there's the obvious reason, and then if he's taking his phone in there, he may just be hiding!

I sometimes do that (the phone thing, not having a bathroom wank) when everyone wants a piece of me. If he shares a bedroom or is supposed to be doing something else, it could well be this. Or a mixture of that and the wanking.

Other reasons in our family include OCD (hand-washing, etc), constipation and sensory issues (enjoying the water).

Yes I had thought of that one, though I’m also wondering if it could be because his diet and activity levels are so rubbish. He ain’t eat healthy or move himself. Except on the weekend to go spending money with his friends. At home he practically lives in his room on his bed - even when he’s not actually in it. He’s 16.

He may well just be hiding, I hide in the toilet several times a day 😆
