Blotchy rash stomach and back. Cause?

Potatodrivers · 23/12/2021 14:28

After I got out of the bath lastnight, blotches started forming on my stomach. First thought was the heat and I brushed it off. A pinprick rash joined forces with it for a while but that gradually went away.

Today I still have those blotches all over my stomach and back, only up to my breast area. I have a couple on my breasts, but that seems to be where it ends.

Can an allergic reaction be limited to one location? I assumed that since my whole body was submerged in the water that i would be affected in more places. If not an allergy, could it just be off the heat (it wasn't too hot) and my body is just delayed in getting over it?

It has started to feel a bit itchy, but not much.
I didnt use anything different to what I usually use. So I'm stumped to what the allergy could be.

If you have any antihistamine, then try that and see if it helps.

Do you have a sore throat? If so, it could be strep rash.

Potatodrivers · 23/12/2021 14:57

I don't have a sore throat. I've just took an antihistamine so hopefully that gets rid of it!
Its doing my head in trying to think of what could have caused it lol

I'm starting to think its likely a viral rash. I am absolutely freezing. Ice cold hands and it feels like I'm standing outside in cold weather. Despite being in a warm house with a t shirt, jumper and jacket on. I just want to go to bed as well but that part isn't unusual for me.
No temperature though and a negative lft.

Does it look like a Christmas tree? And is there one bigger patch? Could be something like this?

Do you have any other symptoms of sepsis ? Do you feel well in yourself?

Here is a photo of some of the rash. The pinprick spots are back since I took the antihistamine. I dont know if that's a good thing or a bad thing?

I've noticed a couple of the blotchy like ones near my shoulders so it's possibly spreading.

I dont believe it to be sepsis. Other than feeling absolutely freezing and tired I feel fine. And like I say, tiredness is not uncommon for me.

Have you had covid recently? My DC both had post covid rashes on their torso, raised and itchy, the doctor said they are seeing lots of cases.

Kenneldogsrock · 23/12/2021 17:14

Have you had a COVID jab recently? I came out in a rash like this afterwards

Potatodrivers · 23/12/2021 17:37

Nope and nope.
Honestly, the coldness is bothering me far more than the rash right now. I have swapped the jacket for a dressing gown and a blanket. My hands still feel like blocks of ice. I've put the heating on as well.
It's like how you feel when you've been out in icy cold weather and then you take ages to warm up. It's that kind of coldness feel. 🥶

In that case, ring 111 for advice.

Potatodrivers · 23/12/2021 18:35

Ooh no I couldn't do that. I'll see how I get on over the next few days. If the rash keeps spreading ill see about speaking to a doctor if I can. But hopefully it all just buggers off.

Do a covid test

I think we had covid at the start and I had hives for weeks after. Son had rah too

anothermamaa · 23/12/2021 18:56

I just had this and I have covid

JuneOsborne · 23/12/2021 18:58

What's your actual temperature?

Potatodrivers · 23/12/2021 19:21

I did a lft and that was negative. My temperature was 36.6 earlier and I've just checked about 15 minutes ago. It was 36.7 ao it's remained steady.

I have finally warmed up a bit thanks to cooking.

Keep doing the lfts... my positive came about two-three days post rash. Antihistamine took it down. Also had the coldness ! Exactly the same symptoms

Uh man. I hope its not that. I will keep testing though. Did it progress any further than that, or did it finally settle into nothingness?

Viral rash. I get the same thing every time I pick up a virus. Might be covid but not necessarily. Usually disappears when the fever breaks.

anothermamaa · 24/12/2021 08:47

Progressed to a bad headache a couple of days after headache but fine now a week on. Are you jabbed? How are you feeling today? Better I hope!

Potatodrivers · 24/12/2021 10:08

Glad to hear that it probably is just a viral rash of some kind.

Its starting to fade, but has increased in itchiness. Thankfully the itchiness isn't frequent though.
I am feeling a lot better today thanks. I had a long and decent sleep so that probably helped.
Not jabbed, no.

I tested yesterday and the day before and both were negative. I'm skipping today but will be testing again tomorrow. So fingers crossed that is also negative and this stupid rash vanishes.
