Sleepyhead in the mornings

I’ve always struggled to get out of bed in the mornings and to feel actually “awake” upon waking. Bit fed up with it now, I want to be able to get on with things in the morning and not be useless for two hours… It always feels like it takes that long for my blood pressure to rise to a normal level and for the brain fog to clear.

If I walk up the stairs within two hours of waking up, I end up breathless and panting. And if someone tries to engage me in conversation I get anxious because I can’t think properly.

It doesn’t matter what time I get up, or how long I sleep or what quality of sleep I get. I NEVER feel good when I wake up.

I know I’m not the only one who suffers from this… and so, my fellow sleepyheads, just wondered if anyone has any tips for waking up properly in the morning? Particular yoga/breathing exercises, perhaps ways to stimulate the vagus nerve etc. Please share what works for you.

I think you should discuss it with your GP. There could be an underlying physical issue or it could be anxiety.
