Lump on bone behind my ear

I have a lump on the bone behind my ear. It's hard and sore. The skin looks fine, no redness or dryness.

Spoke to GP on phone and they said it's likely a fungal infection and had prescribed cream to put on the lump.

This seems odd to me but happy to try the cream. Any ideas what it might be?

It's not particularly clear from the picture, is it on the cartilage of the ear or your skull?

Either way, not likely to be a fungal infection!

So what you bump result out in?
And since how many days you are having that bump?
