Hey all i need some advice, i am currently breastfeeding and i suffer from really bad hayfever and i am worried that if i take anything for it, it will go through into the breast milk. Can anyone tell me if there is anything i can take while breastfeeding or do i just have to suffer...thanks

I know that when you are pregnant Piriton is ok to take. I needed it when pregnant and also while breast feeding. The pharmacist said to check with my doctor regarding the breast feeding. I think one of the breast feeding groups like La Leche would be the most knowlegeable. HTH

The Pharmasists in the UK won't sell you anything you have to get a Prescription.

As a rule anything that dries up your nasal passages can dry up your Milk (especially in "established" BFing). I decided to give in and try the beconase I was prescribed and DD went nuts for a few days. When I stopped it she went back to her usual self. No idea if it was linked but I then decided not to risk it again so suffered through the season.

Kellymom.com had some good links.
