DS discoloured fingers - post covid effect or something else? (Pics)

Teen DS had covid in Oct and about 2-3 weeks later the tip of his little finger was quite red but it was after playing rugby back when we had that cold snap so thought it was from then, a chilblain maybe

It faded to a brownish colour but has now spread / shown up on the next two fingers

He has sensation in his fingers but it is not sore, he is worried about it though, esp how it looks

I have looked at many pics of covid toes and a few fingers but they seem red or purple rather than brownish .

Will call GP on Monday but don't want to take up their time if nothing serious that will go on its own but will kick myself if I should have it looked at but didn't

Anyone experienced similar looking digits after covid or any other time?

This looks like Hemosiderin Staining but needs a doctor to be sure.

Taking pics to record changes as become darker and along the fingers as well as the tips, almost looks like frostbite but it can't be can it?

I have Raynauds and did get frostbite in my fingers in 1986 , it looked very similar to that but was extremely painful , are they painful .

Not painful, I doubt it is frostbite, I think I need to stop looking at images online, freaking myself out

I would go to the gp, or at least the pharmacist.
I have no idea what it is so that's why I'd go to a medical professional.

have a google of achenbach syndrome? on the BMJ it shows photos of it affecting the tips of fingers in some people

Personally, I wouldn’t wait until next week. I would be finding the nearest walk-in centre and going there!

Hi, I just came across this post as I was looking for information. My 2 yr old DD has fingertips similar to those of your DS. Would you please share what the GP said? I'm calling on Monday to schedule her for an appt to see what it could be.
