Anyone got any idea what I can do about my diastasis <means belly flopping out!>

Hi

Have had DS3 and damage caused previously by babies just got a whole lot worse. I basically unzipped first time round and this time I am unzipped from CS scar to cleavage. And I know this because - TMI alert! - I could essentially feel my bowels bubbling around after the delivery and can still do so. I don't think there is anything (?) between them and the outside world and don't know if I need to worry about this or not.

I've tried the 'how many fingers test' and you know what, my whole hand just disappears and threatens to suck my arm in after it - I literally cannot feel any muscle there at all. And I have now sort of popped out at the top of my abdomen now, well above my belly button as well as below

I'd just be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of this and whether it is possible to cure with exercises or if there's no hope. I don't even want a flat stomach, I'd just like to not have to buy clothes 2 sizes bigger than the rest of me cos it doesn't go anywhere. More seriously I'm worried about my back - I believe that normal stomach exercises are not a good idea when you have a large diastasis?

Any advice welcome...

ask for referral to physio from GP, you need specific exercies as the common ones used could lead to disc prolapse (I know this from painful experience and my tummy was just ordinary post natural birth)
once you've built the tummy up a bit...
or you can wear such a thing as a post natal support girdle. They are meant to help too
