DD having occasional funny turns - would you take her to Drs?

My dd (aged 10) occasionally gets a turn where she feels she needs to lie down for a few minutes. She says her mouth gets tight and full of lots of saliva.

It happens about 3 or 4 times a year, usually when she is tired.

What could it be. After a rest for an hour she is fine again.

Should I take her to the drs?

I would go and say just what u have said here.

my dd who is 5 has had blanks, on and off for a coulpe of yrs.

We saw a Dr at the hospital, who basically said that we just had to keep an eye, and if they got more frequent then she could have a scan.

It could be partial seizures, it could be migrianous episodes. They may go as quick as they came.

Frequency is the key. they also told me its very very hard to diagnose epilepsy when they happne rarely, as we all have a seizure threshold, and some of us are just more susceptable to these gliches.

She did have a migraine back in July (her forst one) and I took her to A and E because i didn;t know what it was at the time. They did a EEG for seizures and head CT scan. This was how they came to the conclusion it was a migraine.

Maybe these are migraine type warnings if she is too tired. There have been lots of late nights and parties recently.

Well maybe thats it, I have had the migrainous epsidoes myslef, but funnily enough never actually had a migrain.
Thye just say its to do with the bloodvessels, and not an 'electrical' cuase, thats sort of upsetting the brain.

my ex dh had epilepsy, and when he was tired he would get ill.

Sounds tho, as if its the migrainous type, rest required, and sleep.!!!

dd2 gets something a bit like this. She feels a bit sick, very tired and gets a bit of visual disturbance. Doesn't last very long. She's usually ok again within the hour.
It happens to me, my dad and my sister too (very occassionally)
