What's your history? How long have you had it? Been checked out by HCP?

SlaveToTwoTabbyCats · 13/12/2021 23:31

I've had it for a long time - a high dose of Ginko Biloba helps me. I fall asleep with headphones in, listening to audiobooks. I tried white noise/other background noise like waves and birds, and music, but for me speech is best. I was on fluoxetine for many years and I didn't notice it so much, so it may have helped too.

It really got worse when I started an immunesuppressant. Also working from home it is more noticeable. Background noise is a good idea. I spend too long in silence.

I also just stopped citalopram, a couple of months ago.

That is interesting! My tinnitus started when I started fluoxetine and GP confirmed it is a side effect.

I use headspace sleep music and sleep casts to help me in the evenings.

@MistySkiesAfterRain Have a look at the British Tinnitus Association website - lots of great info and help if you need it. You aren't alone with this - lots of us are coping/managing with it every day.

Thanks will do. I ordered a Lumie lamp that has some extra sounds so that will help for night time.

I also have an open plan front room and the fridge noise adds to it.
