What is the matter with me? (Gastro)

A few months ago I was diagnosed with reflux, following an irritating cough.

A couple of courses of Lansoprozole (?) seemed to improve things, but I have had mild ongoing bloating, occasional pain just below my sternum and bouts of mild queasiness.

Last week after 2 days of feeling very bloated and my upper abdomen feeling 'bouncy', I had a day of bad diarrhoea. Mild morning diarrhoea the following 2 mornings.

Since then the diarrohea has stopped by when I go to the loo it is pale yellow, and this morning a greyish yellow.

The GP has asked me to do a sample to test for H Pylori - would that cause this?

H pylori is a bacteria that causes stomach ulcers, as far as I know. It's fairly easy to treat.
Has your GP mentioned the possibility of gallstones? The risk factors are, Female, Fair and Forty (and fat in my case) - do any of these apply to you?

Agree with the message above - ask your gp for blood tests to double check gall bladder & liver and possible an ultrasound for the gall bladder too. If you’ve had the gall bladder out already yellow poo would indicate Bike acid malabsorption.

I had h.pylori about 10 years ago and it caused gastritis like symptoms but nothing intestinal. Just a burning in the actual stomach, so upper abdomen no matter what I ate.
I now have gallstones which does cause intestinal issues like you describe. Symptom would usually be after eating fatty food.

Thanks all.

It is possible that the recent diarrhoea hand yellow pop are separate from the acid reflux / possible ulcer/ H Pylori.

I am way past my 40th birthday (by more than a decade) not fair, and not fat.

I will ask the Dr about gall bladder issues.

Ask the GP to check gall bladder, liver and pancreas.
