Problems with pee after having a BM

Whenever I have a bowel movement, I have issues with peeing afterwards. 5-10 minutes later I need to go for a wee, despite having been when I had a BM. Sometimes I then need to go again, sometimes it then sorts it, but then sometimes it can go on all day. Just one or two BMs a day.

What's going on?

Anyone?

Possibly a pelvic floor dysfunction thing? Worth reading about and possibly consulting a pelvic floor physiotherapist

I get this as well. I have IC (I share the opinion that IC is actually usually a chronic UTI).

It was once described to me as a nerve thing - and this makes sense to me. Like your body can only 'feel' one set of nerves in an area at a time. When I need a BM, my bladder pain is 'switched off' , the nerves are 'busy' dealing with that - then when have finished the BM, a few mins later pain and urgency returns.

Or it could be an anatomical thing.
